Univeral Studios

Today we went to Universal. Thankfully, everyone was feeling well (we are thankful for the power of prayer!) We rode a lot of "simulated" rides, but they really were fun. Tomorrow we hit the other Universal for the big roller coasters!! Owen loved the rides, and was crying when he found out he was 2 inches too short to ride Men in Black! Jaws was a little too real for him, though. He and Aiden both loved Jimmy Newtron and the Simpson rides. Tim and Maddie rode a new roller coaster, you could pick your own music coming out of your headrest. Walker won a spiderman at a dart toss, and we never waited in line longer than 25 minutes!! The weather could not have been more beautiful, and so far, noone has gotten sunburned!

Disney Hollywood Studios

Even though Aiden was feeling good and then bad, and then okay....we still got a few good pics today.....(Owen still hates "real" characters!)

TMI

For those of you who don't read text language, this means "too much information". That being said, even though this is my public blog, I really use it as a journal, and felt compelled to record this memory. Feel free to stop reading now.......
In the seventeen years Tim and I have been married, it is not uncommon for a child to be carsick on a vacation. No big deal, right?? This time (on a twelve hour trip broken up into two days) it kinda was. Owen threw up not, one, not two, but more than seven times. That is when I stopped counting. Once we got to Kissimmee, I got some kind of bug that made the beach trip less than pleasant, and last night I had the horrible feeling I was getting a bladder infection (I warned you to stop......) The icing on the cake was about 2 this morning when a very hot Aiden crawled into bed with us and announced his throat hurt. We let him sleep in, and he seemed better when we headed to Disney. Boy were we wrong. When we got to the park, he got out of the van and promptly puked. He felt better, so we tried a few rides, and he seemed fine, and then....not so much. We headed back to the condo so he can rest, and hopefully we can hit Universal tomorrow. Tim, Maddie and Walker are heading back later to hit the rides we missed earlier.

I have never purchased so much medicine in such a short span of time in my life!!!

The Central Orlando Zoo

Today we went to the zoo. It was a great one! We saw monkeys, lemurs, eagles, kangaroos, huge turtles, cheetahs, leopards and even an elephant. It was not crowded, and very shady. Hopefully the theme parks will be as easy to walk through......

Cocoa Beach

Today was a beautiful day, so we headed to the beach. Afterwards we drove through a wild life refuge, and even saw a few alligators! On the way back, we stopped at Cracker Barrel. Yum Yum!

Vacation-Day One

After spending all day in the van hearing, "how much longer" and Owen puking, we finally made it to Kissimmee. We decided after sitting for that long, we should go walk around somewhere, so we chose Downtown Disney. I don't know what it is like on a regular day, but on a Saturday night, it is packed. We found the "build your own lightsaber" store and the boys were in heaven.

Soccer Season

Tonight was Aiden's first game. They don't keep score, and the boys had a great time running around trying to kick the ball. By the end he was a little bored, so he decided to sit down and rest.

Softball Chic

As much as I love to tease Maddie about pink frilly dresses and things, I love her much more, and this is "the real Maddie"
:-)

Maddie went to the Bride's House with the young women tonight to try on dresses for the Spring Formal next month......I'm not sure about the modesty part,(there just weren't any dresses there with sleeves!!) but isn't she beautiful?!?!?!?!

Eggs, eggs and more eggs

This morning Aiden and Owen went to the church easter egg hunt. They had just finished mowing the grass when we got there, and grass clippings were everywhere. Owen was none to pleased to have them in his shoes!! When we got home, we finally colored our easter eggs, which will quickly be made into egg salad!!!! Tomorrow the boys will get one final egg hunt at grandma and papa Brownie's house.

Aiden's Easter Party

Today was Aiden's easter party at school. They had a great time finding their eggs and eating their treats. Owen was excited to be able to join in as well!

April 2 is World Autism Day

TO LIGHT IT UP BLUE

On the night of April 1, prominent buildings across North America and the world including the Empire State Building in New York City and the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada will be lit up blue to raise awareness for autism and to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day on Friday, April 2.

And we’re aiming to light the world blue, too – city by city, town by town – by taking action to raise awareness about autism in our communities.
