Finally Finished

Walker finally had his board of review, and is now an official Eagle Scout.  They gave him a small plaque that needs to be engraved and placed at his project.  Next up--his Court of Honor!!

Talk like a pirate

Yesterday, evidently, was "talk like a pirate day".  Krispy Kreme was running a promotion that if you came dressed up and talking like a pirate, you got a free dozen donuts.  Maddie got Owen dressed up and off they went.  Pretty cool deal!!!

The love seat that matches my couch finally came in, add in a picture, some glass owls, birds, and a few pillows later --  the room is complete!!

Two Views

Watching tv from my bed

Watching tv from the love seat in the den
Ever since my bunion surgery on Tuesday, I have had two views.  One from the bedroom, and one from the den.  Today was the first day I could actually put a tiny bit of weight on it.  I actually made it upstairs for the first time since surgery.  That alone wore me out!!

Again, they bruised me getting an iv in.  This one took three tries.

My two Walkers.......  hehehe

Hopefully next week will be better.

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for Salem kids.  Aiden and Owen are at West Salem, and Maddie and Walker are at Salem High.  They were up and ready to go, let's hope that continues.

Collateral Damage

It all started with two end tables a friend no longer needed.  I thought they would be nice for the den.  At that time, however, the den was "maxed out" with a large wrap around couch.  Tim and I decided we were ready to get rid of said piece of furniture, so we went and bought a couch  I have been wanting for a few years now.  We picked it up last night.  Unbeknownst to us, the new couch is MUCH larger than our old couch.  We spent over two hours trying to force it downstairs, with no luck.  We then spent even more time trying to get it upstairs.  Finally, we had some luck.....but not without some damage.........

Here is what the living room looks like now.....the love seat will be in this week.  The couch is 95 inches long--in case you were wondering.....

We had to saw off two of these things to flip the couch up and over. (believe me, we tried everything else!)

This is a gouge in the ceiling!!

We lost two backpack pegs, and had to take the handrail off trying to get it downstairs.  I won't even mention the scuffs......

This picture (that Tim bought me of the original gazebo at the duck pond where he proposed to me) got knocked off the wall and fell....thankfully I was able to glue it back together.

This is what the den looks like now (the end tables, etc. haven't made it down yet--we were just too tired!)

Hopefully bringing the love seat in will be far less eventful......
