Sucks to be sick

 Here is Owen waiting in the lab to see if he has strep throat, again. He just had it a month ago!  He actually fell asleep like that.

 Instead of giving us another prescription, the doctor decided to give Owen a shot of penicillin, (really, a shot--big needle, thick medicine--evidently quite painful) boo!!! She was afraid he would have thrown up the medicine, and not get rid of the strep throat.

He fell asleep again while we were waiting to make sure he didn't have a bad reaction to the shot.  Poor little guy is still sleeping (and puking) downstairs......

Bobcat badge

Tonight Aiden was awarded his bobcat badge.  They painted each boys face (each color represented something-speak kindly, look ahead, etc.).  They then got to skate and play in the playcenter.  Owen even won a sock footed relay race.  He was running so fast I couldn't even get a picture of him!

Baptism Day!!

Today Aiden was baptized.  Joe and Dad gave great talks on baptism and the Holy Ghost.   Afterwards we had some refreshments. Kari, Adam and Boston even made it!! All in all, a great day!!!!

 Aiden was super excited about today.  Dad gave him his scriptures during his talk, and Aiden is ready to take them to church tomorrow.

Here he is looking spiffy in his favorite new bow tie.  Not sure what possessed him to want one, but he's been asking for months, so I got him one for this special day.

After the baptism, he got to go to his first Virginia Tech game.  He had a great time!

Never say never.......

As I reflect on the many "I would never __________" statements I have said over the years, followed by "my child would never _________",  it has become very clear that things I said we would never do, we are now doing......

 riding motorcycles

 keeping a gun in the house (there is now a gun safe full of them), hunting, climbing treestands......

 

and least of all camping.......
