Every year the girls have a New Beginnings program to kick of the personal progress for the year.  This year our theme was "more than a princess", complete with their dreams hung from the ceiling, pajama party decorations and a delicious cake!

Jump!!!!

Owen was invited to a birthday party at Jump this weekend.  As you can tell, they had a great time!!!

Temples and Tombs

Tonight was the second grade production of "Temples and Tombs".  Each child got to choose to be an egyptian, mummy, or archeologist.  Aiden chose to be a mummy.  Thankfully, that wasn't too hard to make!

Two Leprechans

Today is the annual Walk-a-thon at West Salem elementary.  I lucked out, the kindergarteners walk from 11:15 to 12:15 and the second grade walks from 12:15 to 1:15.  I will be getting my exercise today!!  They also have a "who wore the most green' contest from each class.  Aiden won last year, fingers are crossed they both win today......

Tennis!!!!!

Tennis season is upon us, and WOW! what a start it has been!  The team Salem played today (well, the girl Maddie played...) was not a fair player.  Ugh!!!  I'm surprised I didn't get thrown out from the quiet arm flinging I was doing....

Skating....it's not like it used to be

When I was little and you went skating, you went to the skate center, paid your money, traded your shoes for a pair of skates, and off you went.  Now, in order to participate in the skate sessions held at the elementary school, you have to wear a plastic cap (to keep away lice) under a helmet, wrist, elbow and knee pads!!!

Unfortunately, after skating, (and unprotected) Aiden went to the water fountain to get a drink.  He then, somehow, managed to walk into a wall, cut his forehead and get a nice bruise.  Sheesh~!

Sunday dinner

Today was such a beautiful day, we headed to mom and dad's after church to grill out....the kids had a great time playing together outside:

Virginia Readers Choice

Walker won a $10 giftcard to Barnes and Noble for reading all ten books in the Virginia Readers Choice.

Green eggs and Ham

Today was 'read across America' and the kindergarteners participated in a Dr Seuss Green Egg and Ham party.  They looked gross, but even the teacher said they were delicious!
