Camp Bethel

Today was the kindergarten field trip to Camp Bethel.  We got to make a necklace out of a 'tree cookie', ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor, and hike up to the old oak tree.....

Owen and the necklace he decorated.

This little girl followed Owen around every where....and was a little possessive...

Here they are around the old oak tree.

This doesn't really need an explanation, does it?

Here is Owen's entire class.

Let's go to the beach......

As usual, I decided on a whim I would like to take the kids somewhere for the long Memorial Day weekend.  And when you have a sister that lives near the beach, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where you should go......we had a great time shopping, hanging out, and-of course, going to the beach!

Note to self:

.....remember, this is like my journal, and I print each year in a blog book.  Keep reading if you like to laugh.....
So, Wednesday night Walker said he thought he had another in-grown toenail.  I called the podiatrist the next morning, and they had an appointment at 10:30, so I snagged it, picked Walker up from school and off we headed.  He did indeed have one, and Dr. Stefl was able to laser it right then, a procedure I had watched him perform on Walker last August.......this time, I should not have watched.  I was totally fine during the entire procedure, but once he was finished and I was walking down the hall towards the reception area, I began to feel a little sick.  I thought I could hold it together enough to make his return appointment and get out to the car....I was wrong.   I remember standing at the reception desk, looking at his prescription and making the appointment, and then----BAM---I was on the floor.  I have no memory of her calling for Dr. Stefl, but wondered how he knew I had passed out and was then sitting beside me on the floor!!!  (I had to have only been out a second).  I gave them all a good scare, and, of course, just tried to laugh the whole thing off!

All pictured out....

For some reason, Maddie and Walker weren't really thrilled about getting pictures made before the Spring Formal....this is all I could get!!

All in all, a good day

We started out Maddie's birthday with manicures, followed by breakfast at Denny's.  Later on, we got her hair done for the Spring Formal at church tonight......but we did manage to fit in birthday cake and presents.....

She had an ice cream cake, a vera bradley wristlet, a pandora bracelet with a "sweet 16" charm, and lots of candy!

And the "m4ddie" license plates she has been wanting.....

8th grade dance

Last night was the big 8th grade dance at Andrew Lewis Middle School.  Walker looked as handsome as ever....

Birthday Blues

For as long as I can remember, Maddie has hated being sung "Happy Birthday"......here is some evidence.......

My, how time flies.....

Sixteen years ago our family began with my sweet Madison Lee Wade....just look at her now!!!!

Quick "did you know fact".  Did you know I was convinced I was having a boy, so her baby room was painted blue, and I called her "Alex" the entire time I was pregnant??  Speaking of being pregnant...did you know I gained 80 pounds while I was pregnant with her??  Totally worth it......

Staying in between the lines

This is what it looked like when Aiden got home from school.  "Red" said the doctor, but not "angry".

This is what it looked like when we got back from the doctor, two hours later.

Tennis

Here's Maddie's tennis team this year:

mothers

Most people say how much they love their mom...what a great role model they are, how helpful they are....but I am blessed to be able to say not only do I have a fantastic mom, but a fantastic grandma as well....guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  My mom is truly a blessing.  She is truly the best, and I love her very much.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Flowers

Who doesn't love to get flowers?  I got bunches of them today, and each one is special!

DC Trip

This weekend we went with the church youth group to the DC Temple.

We went up the night before, did some shopping at Tyson's corner, and then hit Fair Oaks mall on the way home, after driving around DC for a bit.  All in all, a pretty nice weekend!

The boys hit the Lego store, and put them together on the bed in the hotel.
We stayed in this hotel in Tyson's Corner, it was really nice!
My favorite kind of picture, the kids walking together holding hands.
Maddie wanted a picture of the two of us.....so here it is!

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day.  Not only do I have an awesome mother, but I have some wonderful children, and a great husband.  I love them all very much.

This is what Owen made me in school.  He knew I was 37 years old.  He thinks my favorite thing to do is invoices (haha).  I'm not sure why he thinks my favorite food is rice (it's buffalo chicken).  He nailed the favorite color, pink.  He said I like to wear a 2009 shirt, because it is an old school field day shirt I was wearing the day they filled this out.  No clue why he thinks I go to walmart why he is at school, I hate walmart!  And he is totally right, it makes me happy when they clean the basement....especially since they are the ones that messed it up!!  Gotta love him!
This is what Aiden's class made for their moms.  He thinks I am a good helper, nothing wrong with that!

In addition to the stinking cute things the boys made me at school, I got two more charms for my pandora bracelet (a camera and a heart) and an ipod touch to listen to.  Whooohoo!!!!  Life is good, and I am blessed.
