Party Time!!!!

Today West Salem had the "fall parties".  (not a Halloween party, a fall party)  We decorated sugar cookies and pumpkins.  I think they all had a good time!

The kids loved getting to put icing on their own cookies, including black icing, woohoo!
Owen's class didn't use anywhere near as much icing as Aiden's class!

Party at the Y

Tonight was the fall festival at the Y.  We got to pick pumpkins, play games, watch the Charlie Brown movie and take a hayride.

Here is Owen coming down the slide.  I had one of Aiden, but somebody walked in front of me right when I took it!
Aiden and Owen on the hill watching the movie, eating cookies and drinking pepsi and hot chocolate.

They had a cute "fairy tale" themed hayride the boys enjoyed.  (Maddie was in the cemetery doing the
Salem Ghost Walk....)

Kindergarten Field Trip

Today was the field trip to Layman's Family Farm.  The weather was perfect, and we had a great time.

Cub scout spookoree

Last night was the cub scout spookoree.  The night before is a "family campout".  What kind of mom would I be if we didn't all go as a family???  Knowing that it was going to be freezing, I packed up every layer of pajamas, blankets and sleeping bags, ready for the trip.  Again, it takes entirely too much stuff to camp.  It was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g-.  When I got in the car this morning to go home with Maddie and Owen, it was 33 degrees, and there was frost all over the tent and ground.  I think next year it will be a father/son adventure.

It was too dark last night, and too cold this morning to take pictures.......
UPDATE:
look what I found on Tim's phone!!!

Zing Zang Zoom

The circus is in town!!!  We got to go, and enjoy the company of family as well.

They got to see what it was like to walk on a tight rope before the show.

"What do you mean, you won't buy me a $12 bag of cotton candy??  PLEASE!!!!!!!"
 Best buds!!
Grandma & Papa to the rescue!  They bought a bag for everyone to share.
Even the olds kids enjoyed the evening!

The pumpkin patch

Today Maddie and Walker went to the temple with the church youth group, so I took the boys to Jeter Farm.  Since the school feels second graders are "too old", this is the only one Aiden will get to go on.  They had a really nice, long hay ride, followed by the corn maze, which spit us out into the pumpkin patch.  The weather was perfect.

The boys loved watching the dog run behind us.
This was the longest, and prettiest, hayride I've ever been on.
We only hit a dead end a few times......

Aiden was on the top of the world on this tall hay bail.

They had a fun slide everyone enjoyed.

The admission cost covered one small pie pumpkin for each of us, we purchased larger ones to carve before we left.

Lost Tooth

Last night, Owen lost his first tooth.  He actually insisted on pulling it out himself.  When he woke up this morning, after checking for the loot from the tooth fairy, he asked why his new tooth hadn't grown in yet!

Food for thought

Here's how my conversation with Owen just went, after I told him he could not eat a can of soup while I was cooking dinner:

"Mom! Why do you keep bossing us around??  That's what dads are for" - Owen
"If dads boss you around, what do moms do?" I asked
"You're just supposed to clean up!" he says

Gotta love him!!!!!!

Seriously?!?!?!

Just went we get one child well (Owen), another one bites the dust (Aiden).  This one was far more expensive......one trip to the Emergency Room at 6:45 in the morning (for a temperature of 103 and hallucinations), (it's not mono, the flu or strep) and one trip to the pediatrician the next day (because he felt like he was riding a roller coaster--laying in my bed)!!  All to find out "it's just a virus"........

Random

This is how I found Owen after we took pictures.  Guess he's still not feeling 100%
Every time we go to Kroger, Aiden begs me to take his picture with Curious George, so I finally did.  Then he asked me what I did with it, so....here it is!

My, how things change....
