New pics

Here it is (above) the last picture of the Wade kids for 2011.

Just because, it was a 60 degree day in December....

For some reason, the kids wanted pictures in front of the old blue truck in Grandma Brownie's field.

They also wanted a 'crazy' pose.
This one (above) is Maddie's favorite.

Happy Birthday, Walker!!!

For my history loving 14 year old son, I love you!~!~!  Hope your birthday was as awesome as  you are!

It all began with a set of blocks.....

Back around thanksgiving, a friend had a cute craft made from scrapbook paper and blocks of wood.  It said "thankful" on one side, and "christmas" on the other.  They turned out really cute. (I have already packed them away, or I would post a picture of them.)  This inspired me to make blocks for the Young Women, with the 2012 theme on them.  I then learned of a website called "pinterest". (thanks for the new addiction, Maddie!)   From here I saw quite a few more projects I would like to do:

Yeah, I know, this one is crooked.  I'm still learning.......and I think I'll change it to "thought" of the day, instead of "quote".
This one was going to have all kinds of "rules" on it.  --love one another, clean up after yourself--etc.
but the canvas I bought wasn't big enough for all the letters I needed, so I made it into something else.
These are the blocks I made for the Young Women at church.  Who knew scrapbook paper, glue and mod podge could be so much fun?~?~

Birdhouse!

One of Aiden's requirement as a Cub Scout is a wood project.  Tim thought today would be a good day to build a birdhouse.  I think it turned out pretty nice!

The boys put on their "painting shirts" and began to paint.

Tada!  They decided their birdhouse was for Cardinals, since that is West Salem's mascot.

Did you ever wonder???

Ever wondered why I let my kids get up so crazy early on  Christmas morning?  It's because that's what my parents let us do.  All four of us would sleep in sleeping bags upstairs, and periodically during the night, Joe and I would creep downstairs with a flashlight, to shine on our stockings.  If the stockings were full, we knew Santa had come, and we woke everyone up to open our presents.  I still think it's fun to see the excitement as they open their gifts, no matter what time it is!

Yes, that is 3:15am when we opened gifts this year.  Aiden stayed awake until time for church, and then slept during the entire sacrament program!

Here are the new bikes for Aiden and Owen, and the xbox 360 w/ kinect that Santa brought the kids.
Aiden loves comic books and Captain America.
Owen was excited about an iron man transformer car.
Walker got the 3DS he's been wanting for a while.
Owen was also excited about the new skylander game!

There are no pics posted of Maddie, because she had cute curlers in her hair!  I decided not to embarrass her that way....never know where they may end up!

The White Board

This is our white board.  If anything needs to be picked up, reminders, etc., the kids know they need to write it on the board.  I guess Aiden felt like his need for candy should be addressed.  suttle hint......and sweet that he included Owen!
