Well, it appears I have exceeded the storage limit for a blogger account ( I guess I should have expected that after 5 years.....)
My new blog is at cuwader.wordpress.com. It's not as pretty yet, but hopefully I can figure it out.....

New pics
Every once in a while, more often than most, I'm sure--I like to get new pictures of the kids. First, because I like the ones in the house to reflect what season it is (no looking at beach pictures in the dead of winter) and second, because they grow up so very fast!
Even though they are used to it, they rarely (ok-never) enjoy it.......here's the latest and greatest!
| Maddie, texting?? never!! |
| I can't remember what made him cry, but he was done. |

Eagle Dinner
Last night was the annual banquet for all the Boy Scouts who earned their Eagle Scout this year. Dad, Tim and Walker were able to attend, and Walker received a nice neckerchief and slide.

Sinkland Farms
Well, I guess today was the last time I visit Sinkland Farms on a fieldtrip (sniff sniff--ha ha ha)
It was pretty chilly and windy, but we had a good time. I wasn't going to walk through the corn maize for fear I would fall and hurt my foot, but it became a non-issue when we ran out of time.

The phone call
It's the phone call every parent of a new driver dreads.....the one with a teenager sobbing on the other end, totally unable to communicate. I knew something had happened when the phone rang at 6:30am, when they should have already been at seminary. A phone call that early is never a good sign! Once Maddie calmed down, she explained that she had taken a corner too sharp, and hit something that punctured the wall of her tire. Kirk was able to put the spare on for her, and I took it for new tires while she was at school. $429 later, she has 4 new tires!!!
I couldn't say anything to her--I've done the same thing once before!!

There once was a mouse....
.....who had the misfortune of running in to Hobbes, who chased it around for a while. Maddie felt bad for it, and went outside to see if she could rescue it. She then had the misfortune of being bit on the finger by said mouse. I called the pediatrician's office, who said to call animal control. Animal control said they would research it, and someone would call me right back, but to retrieve the mouse if I could. (I did) Fifteen minutes later, an animal control truck pulls up in the driveway. After taking the mouse and all kinds of information, he left. He recommended Maddie get a tetanus shot. (thankfully, mice don't carry rabies) I called the pediatrician's office back, and they said to come right in. I said I knew she just had a booster a few years back--no luck. Dr. Delaney walks into the room laughing that this was the first 'mouse bite' he had, checked her chart, said she was up to date on everything, and sent us home. What a day. Animal control has to inform the health department, who will decide if the mouse needs to be tested for anything. And so we wait.....

Finally Finished
Walker finally had his board of review, and is now an official Eagle Scout. They gave him a small plaque that needs to be engraved and placed at his project. Next up--his Court of Honor!!

Talk like a pirate
Yesterday, evidently, was "talk like a pirate day". Krispy Kreme was running a promotion that if you came dressed up and talking like a pirate, you got a free dozen donuts. Maddie got Owen dressed up and off they went. Pretty cool deal!!!
